2016 Arizona Youth Survey (new 2018 data on the way)
Based on the latest results for the Arizona Youth Survey, our South Mountain youth have consistently shown a decrease in youth alcohol and marijuana use whereas youth prescription opioid use has shown a slight increase.

Based on the latest results for the Arizona Youth Survey, over 90% of South Mountain youth who have used alcohol or drugs in the past 30 days have 1 or more ACEs. Over 65% of South Mountain youth who have used alcohol or drugs in the past 30 days have 4 or more ACEs.

2016 Community Views Survey
Based on the latest results from the South Mountain WORKS Coalition’s Community Views Survey, approximately 50 percent of Parents/Guardians have only talked to their child 1 to 2 times about the risks of using alcohol and/or drug use and the resistance strategies to prevent underage drinking and drug use.
